Elections FAQs

The City follows the General Election schedule, which are held every two years in the even number years.

Local elections are held for City Council and Mayor positions.  The mayor is elected for a two (2) year term and four (4) councilmembers are elected in sets of two in alternating election years.

Local, State and County Elections are held at the City of St, Mary's Point City Hall located at 16491 St. Mary's Drive.  Occasionally School District elections are held at other locations (typically Afton-Lakeland school).

 

Absentee voting is handled by Washington County.

 

 How do I register to vote?

OR you can register to vote at the polling place the day of the election.

MUST have a photo ID and current utility bill indicating your name and city address.  OR you can have a resident vouch for you. 

 Where do I vote?

St. Mary's Point polling place is location at City Hall.

 2024 City Council Candidates

Filing period for municipal office is July 30 - August 13, 2024

The last date to withdraw for the 2024 municipal offices is August 15, 2024

 

There are two council seats up for election (4 year terms) and one council - Mayor seat (2 year).
